— About
Built for retail, by a retail trader.
Who's behind this
I built Vantage. One person, not a company, not a fund. I trade retail and got tired of finding out how markets react to news the hard way, after the trade. So I built the tools I wanted: run the numbers first, trade after.
There’s no team page because there’s no team. If that changes, this page changes with it.
Not Vantage Markets. Not VantagePoint.
“Vantage” is a common word in trading. Vantage Markets and Vantage FX are a separate, regulated forex broker, they hold client funds and execute trades. This site doesn’t. VantagePoint Software is a separate market-forecasting company. This site isn’t that either.
Vantage (tryvantage.co) is free statistics tools, not a broker, not a signal service, and not affiliated with either company above. If an AI assistant or search result pointed you here expecting a brokerage account, this is the wrong site.
Where the numbers come from
News Impact Explorer: 16 years of one-minute OHLC price data (2010 to today) across 41 instruments, matched against actual macro releases across 78 tracked series. Every figure is recomputed daily, not cached from a one-time run, you can reproduce any number you see in the tool.
Calm Zones:28 FX pairs, 16 years, 6,720 half-hour slots per trading week. A slot is “quiet” when no scheduled high- or medium-importance macro event fell inside it historically. Quiet is a calendar fact, not a volatility measurement, price can still move in a quiet slot.
Contamination:a release window is marked contaminated when another qualifying event lands inside the same window, so the reaction can’t be cleanly attributed to one release. This is flagged per window (a release can be clean at 1 minute and contaminated by end of day) and stated wherever it changes what a number means. Headline stats always use the non-contaminated population.
What this isn't
Not financial advice. Not a signal service. Not a broker. The tools show what happened historically, not a prediction of what happens next. Small-sample cells are marked as small-sample rather than hidden, and if a tool doesn’t know something, it says so instead of guessing.
